Follow-up Discussion:
Women and the Slave Trade and
The Legacy of Trauma

Watch Recording of Live Event on Apr 10

Feels like we just got started…

Pease join us for a follow-up discussion for Women and the Slave Trade and the Legacy of Trauma

Join Daseta Gray, Reeshemah Brightley, Naomi Snider, Cecilia Scott-Croff, Barry Walston, and Meredith Darcy as we continue to process together: What impacted you and what were your thoughts during the presentation and after? What are your thoughts and feelings about how the tensions between white women and women of color got enacted during the event? The presentation was billed as an exploration of the experiences of women and the slave trade - what feels useful/important/difficult about exploring the experience of black women and white women, and, how can we have both conversations? It is our hope that this is just the beginning of a larger discussion to be had on the complex relationship between women of color and white women as we wrestle with the intersecting oppressions of white-supremacy and patriarchy. What are specific topics and issues you would like to explore and address moving forward?

Please RSVP to this process discussion being held on Saturday, May 15th at 10:30 to 11:45 am.  Daseta Gray’s presentation will be sent out to follow-up participants. Hope you can join.
